Meet the Children of Sierra Leon
In May of 2020, while on sabbatical, Pastor Joy will be traveling to Sierra Leon to meet the children of TCRF. The purpose of this trip is to meet with the children and their caregivers, and to discern how we might partner in a such a way as to bring greater awareness to this hope-filled mission. Plymouth has been sending money to these kids for over 5 years, but the needs are great and the resources are few. To help raise awareness and money, Pastor Joy will take photos and do a series of paintings of her experiences. The paintings will be available for sale with all proceeds going to support the children. Please consider making a donation to assist with travel expenses, as well as an offering of love for the children.

The Children's Recovery Foundation (TCRF) is a community based charitable organization based in Calaba Town, Sierra Leone and registered with the Freetown City Council. They are partnered and supported by NuHi Ltd. a social enterprise organization based in Wales, UK.
TCRF was set up as an orphanage in 2014 in response to the Ebola crisis which sadly left many children traumatized, destitute and living on the streets. It began with 20 children and and has grown to over 300 children, many of whom are with foster families living in the community.
Along with the orphanage, Seren Preparatory school was established to ensure that every child in care of the orphanage receives an education.
TCRF does not receive any government funding; the staff and teachers do not receive a regular wage, and when they do, it is minimal.
Additionally, the building that was being rented for the orphanage ceased to be an option, so now a new building must be built. In the meantime, the children are being housed at one of the local churches.
